5 similarities between Arjun Kapoor’s Tevar and Mahesh Babu’s Okkadu!

Amidst great fan frenzy and expectations, the makers of Tevar released the trailer of Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha’s action flick. After watching the ‘tevarrific’ trailer, we have to say that the Arjun-Sona starrer has hit the bulls eye in terms of satiating the expectation of the masses. But not many know that Sanjay Kapoor’sTevar is actually an official remake of 2003 Telugu blockbuster Okkadu starring Mahesh Babu.

After scrutinizing the trailer of Tevar, we feel that the Bollywood remake is true to it’s original and has not tried much to give a spin to it. We bring you five similarities between Mahesh Babu’s Okkadu and Arjun Kapoor’s Tevar:

1)Mahesh Babu portrayed the role of a Kabbadi player onscreen in Okkadu, and the trailer of Tevar gives you a glimpse of Arjun Kapoor’s Kabbadi antics. His final dialogue in the trailer,”Kabbadi Kabbadi Kabbadi” only drives home the point that Arjun will be see as a Kabbadi player.

2)Manoj Bajpai impressed us as the villainous politico who is in love with Sonakshi, which is strikingly similar to Prakash Raj’s character in Okkadu who is obsessed with Bhoomika Chawla.

3)The way our lead pair of Arjun and Sona meets is also pretty similar to how Mahesh Babu meets Bhoomika meet in Okkadu. In both the flicks, the hero meddles into the villain’s business when he sees that the baddie is publicly forcing a girl to marry him, and decides to free her from the clasp of the rowdy MLA.

4)The trailer of Tevar indicates plenty of action and chase sequences as Manoj Bajpai relentlessly hounds Arjun and Sona. Even in Okkadu, Mahesh Babu and Bhoomika Chawla were constantly on the run from Prakash Raj.

5)In both Tevar and Okkadu, the cities of Agra and Hyderabad respectively, play very important roles in the film which also happens to be our heroes home towns where they hide the heroines from the deadly villains

Believe it.Here is the list of 10 Hollywood Movies Copied from Indian Movies.

Bollywood movies have been rather infamous for lifting plots from Hollywood movies. From 'Satte Pe Satta' which was heavily inspired by 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers' to 'God Tussi Great Ho' that was a complete rip-off of 'Bruce Almighty', every generation has seen Bollywood films that have been 'inspired' by Hollywood. It is frustrating every time you watch a Hindi movie and find scenes that bear a strong resemblance to scenes from Hollywood movies. But did you know Hollywood has also copied Indian movies on more than once occasions?

It may come as a surprise, but there are Hollywood movies that are direct copies of Indian movies. The most recent example of this is the Hollywood movie 'Leap Year' that instantly reminds you of the hugely popular Bollywood movie 'Jab We Met'. You'll be surprised to learn how many award-winning Hollywood movies have the same plot as a few Indian movies that were released way before them. We found 10 such examples here.

Pearl Harbour – Sangam: The Love Triangle Drama in a war-torn backdrop shown in ‘Pearl Harbor’ (2001) is horridly influenced from the Indian Classic ‘Sangam’ (1964). The Hollywood movie was heavily criticised for its misleading name as it was based on a love triangle rather than on the incident of Pearl Harbor itself.

Jab We Met – Leap year: The creators of ‘Leap Year (2010)’ claim it is not a remake of ‘Jab We Met (2007),’ but the plot and scenes are way too similar for us to believe it. Both are about a talkative, silly girl who is determined to get to her boyfriend so she can propose to him. Along the way, she has to get help from a young down-on-his-luck man. They argue. They stay at a hotel and have to share a room. They fall in love. They separate. Their lives are forever changed because of their brief time together. They reunite. The end. The only differences are that "Leap Year" takes place in Ireland and focuses on Irish tradition and "Jab We Met" has musical numbers.

A Wednesday – A Common Man: A Common Man is a 2013 thriller film starring Oscar Award winner Ben Kingsley and Ben Cross and directed by Sri Lankan film makerChandran Rutnam. The film is an official remake of the Indian thriller A Wednesday! (2008), but Rutnam reworked the screenplay of this highly suspenseful thriller. A Common Man is an award winning movie that won Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor awards at the Madrid International Film Festival and bronze medal in the Feature Films category at the New York Festivals’ International Television and Film Awards, three of the 119 Gold World Medals, 145 Silver, 104 Bronze, and 327 Finalist Certificates awarded that day.

Vicky Donor – Delivery man: The Delivery Man (2013) was loosely based on Vicky Donor (2012). Both the movies have the heroes donating their sperms for money and giving birth hundreds of kids. The central plot of the movies are the same.

Divorce invitation – Aahvaanam: Hollywood saw the 1997 Telegu film ‘Aahvaanam’ being remade into ‘Divorce Invitation’. Both the movies had the same director, SV Krishan Reddy. Who ventured into Hollywood with the 2012 English romantic comedy, Divorce Invitation.

Just Go With It – Maine Pyaar Kyu Kiya: ‘Just Go With It’ (2011), the Jen Anniston and Adam Sandler movie is a copy of ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’ (2005)? Though both of them have been inspired ‘Cactus Flower’, they still differ from the original considerably. The resemblance between ‘Just Go With It’ and ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’, however, is uncanny.

Darr- Fear: ‘Darr’ is one of Bollywood's biggest successes. Shah Rukh Khan created a character no one will copy. Only in ‘Darr’ do you wish the crazy stalker would win the girl and the protective husband would die. ‘Darr’ inspired ‘Fear,’ but many scenes are very similar. The biggest difference is the stalker becomes the boyfriend, whereas in ‘Darr’ the poor crazy stalker doesn't get a chance with the girl. The obvious proof that ‘Fear’ is a remake is when the stalker carves the girl's name on his chest, which famously originated in ‘Darr’.

Rangeela – Win A Date With Tad Hamilton: ‘Rangeela’ (1995) is about a lovable loser who can't compete with a famous actor when it comes to winning the affections of a certain girl. ‘Win a Date With Tad Hamilton’ (2004) is about the exact same thing. The biggest difference is that in ‘Win a Date With Tad Hamilton’ the girl wins a date with Tad Hamilton. In ‘Rangeela,’ the girl earns an audition for a part in the actor's new movie.

Hitch – Chhoti Si Baat: ‘Hitch’ (2005) was inspired by the Bollywood film ‘Chhoti Si Baat,’ although no one has said so publicly. ‘Chhoti Si Baat’ (1975) is about a shy man who wants to woo a certain woman. He tries to mimic a charming, suave ladies man, but fails hopelessly. He gets help from a man who makes it his business to help people change their lives. ‘Hitch’ takes the two characters supporting the lovelorn guy and turns them into one, played by Will Smith.

Kill Bill – Abhay: It seems Tarantino was inspired by the animation sequence in the 2001 Tamil film ‘Aalavanthan’ (Hindi: Abhay) . The Kill Bill ‘O-Ren Ishii Japanese’ animation sequence was adapted from that. Apparently Tarantino admitted in a private conversation with Anurag Kashyap that the celebrated animation-action sequence in Kill Bill was inspired from 2001 Tamil film, Kamal Haasan starrer, Aalavanthan. Kashyap says, ‘Yes, Sight and Sound critic Naman Ramchandran first told me this. So when I met Quentin in Venice I asked him whether the Manga sequence in Kill Bill was inspired from an Indian film and he excitedly remarked, ‘Yes, I saw this Indian serial-killer film which showed violence as animated.’’ Kashyap explains, ‘There is only one Indian serial-killer film which was made before Kill Bill where violence was animated, and that was Abhay/Aalavanthan.’

Charmi's prema oka mykam song copied from "didi milk and honey"

            The Latest copy cat is neither a famous music director nor an established music composer. He is not even a upcoming composer , rather a debutant. One may feel that for an established music director it becomes inevitable to keep up the expectations and finally copy-mix a song to stand firm in the game of survival of the fittest. However ,it came to me as a surprise when I first heard the song yesterday from this movie (fortunately the audio was released yesterday in a MAA TV show ‘Bale Chance le’ ) and straight away I knew it was ripped from a popular Arabic song ‘didi didi’.

             and I was even more surprised when I found that the music director was a debutant and the brother of popular singer ‘deepu’ (famous for his songs in Racha & Eega). When the video of the song was telecasted , it reminded me of the super popular charmi song ‘maha maha’ from Mantra. Well even that song was brutally ripped off, may be it had become a sentiment for charmi to do a hip-hop dance moves with a fast beat and uncanny choreography.

Allu Arjun’s Joy Allukas ad background copied from Requiem for a dream

And this is path breaking………. really guys ,we have seen songs copied into films, poster copies, scenes copy…. and at the worst dialogue copies too……. but this is something beyond normal…….

 

allu arjuns new Joyalukkas ad copied the background music from the classic theme song from Requiem for a dream. I figured it out the moment I heard the ad almost 45 days back, but couldn’t post it because of some other important works.

 

the song from RFAD is said to be one of the top theme song songs ever composed it in hollywood.  Google it out yourself

Kamal Haasan ‘ABHAY’ original scene inspired a sequence in KILL BILL (Reverse copy)

           
     

       So far we've always thought of Indian cinema as being a derivative of its western counterparts & Copying many songs ,movies,story, at least the scenes and even posters.
           So to hear that one of American cinema's most influential directors, Quentin Tarantino, director of movies like Pulp Fiction and Inglorious Basterds, has admitted in a conversation with one of our own directors, Anurag Kashyap, that a whole sequence in one of his films is inspired by an Indian film, came as a huge and a welcome surprise.
             Apparently Tarantino admitted in a private conversation with Anurag that the celebrated animation-action sequence in Kill Bill was inspired from 2001 Hindi-Tamil film, Kamal Haasan starrer, Abhay.


When contacted, Anurag Kashyap says, "Yes, Sight and Sound critic Naman Ramchandran first told me this. So when I met Quentin in Venice I asked him whether the Manga sequence in Kill Bill was inspired from an Indian film and he excitedly remarked, 'Yes, I saw this Indian serial-killer film which showed violence as animated.'"

The director explains, "There is only one Indian serial-killer film which was made before Kill Bill where violence was animated, and that was Abhay."

               Kamal Haasan, who starred in Abhay, has his own take on the compliment. "When I did the animation action sequence 12 years ago it was seen as self-indulgent and odd by a lot of people. Now that it has been endorsed by a filmmaker of such brilliance, critics will be kinder to some of the things I attempt in my films."


If u ask anyone “who is your best movie star or superstar???”…. there may be variable answers. The Regional based audience love there own ‘Wood’ actors or any b-town star. Remember there are many languages in india so do many Film industries. So an astonishing actor in one region may not be promising in other. So the answer to the favorite movie star remains a paradox.

But that’s not the answer we get when you ask “WHO IS THE BEST ACTOR IN INDIA???”.The answer comes within a spark ‘KAMAL HAASAN’. He is not just a favorite to Tamil industry but a has immense respect from all other film industries including HOLLYWOOD  as one of the finest actor.Not just the audience even most of the filmy actors including accept this fact.   No doubt, He is the iron man of indian cinema & the most brilliant actor indian silver screen has ever witnessed. 

Recent allegations on Kamal Haasan’s  Vishwaroopam forced me to post this article to prove a glimpse of his brilliance.

Story Line:

           Reports say the film is an emotionally charged film, which revolves around a boy who fights hard to fulfill the ambition of his father. For the first time in his career, Ram Charan Teja is playing a dual role in the film.

            The story line says one guy is a mass guy and the other is a class guy. In the first half of the movie, the mass guy does a series of murders and the second guy gets arrested for the murders. When the judge is about to declare the judgment, the real culprit appears before the court and agrees to his crime. And the second half is all about why he kills?.
